Whether its a wedding, baby shower, baptism or confirmation, you can never go wrong with a sleek pencil skirt. It’s super sophisticated and stylish. If you don’t like the dark tights get a more sheer pair. I would have said to never wear nylons but they seem to be slowly coming back. Never say never.

Merona Pearl Earrings  ($10, Target)

Tinley Road Bow Tie Blouse  ($49/Piperlime) Free shipping and returns! Since it is sheer, wear either a white or black tank top under it.

Forever 21 Bangles ($5/Forever 21)

Bisou Bisou Pencil Skirt (reg. $44, now $30/ JC Penney) Don’t use the belt that comes with it. It’s pretty cheap looking. Also, unless you’re 5’7″ or over, make sure the skirt hem hits no lower than the top of your knee cap.

Embossed Faux Crocodile Belt  ($2.50/Forever 21)

DKNY Tights ($15/Nordstrom): Free shipping and returns!

Chinese Laundry Women’s Kooper Platform Pump (reg. $89, now $46/Endless) The thick heel makes these pumps easier to walk in yet they are still stylish thanks to the platform and the shape. For a more modern look try these booties in black for $54 (reg. $90).

Lizard Belt Bag  ($70/Oasis): This classic-style bag is worth the price. It will always be in style and you’ll use it over and over. For a less expensive version try this one for $34 (remove the long strap and just use the short one – at least for dressier events).
