As a mom, having a pristine manicure is almost as elusive as finding the mate to every solo sock in your house. Even if you do find time to get to the nail salon, the polish usually only lasts a few days.
The Holy Grail of Manicures
Enter Jamberry Nails. Three sisters, tired of spending money on manicures that didn’t last, created these do-it-yourself wraps that last for two to four weeks without chipping. They come in the CUTEST patterns (250 of them!) and can even be customized. Just send in a photo of something (or someone) you want printed on your wraps and suddenly you’re sporting your daughter’s soccer team logo in the coolest way. If you’re more suited to solid colors they have those too, as well as clear.
Why We Like Them
As most of you know, I am a huge fan of nail stickers. I was leery about trying something new but have to say I like Jamberry Nails just as much. They take a little longer to apply but other than that they have a few pros that nail stickers don’t:
-
Each packet has enough product for two separate applications and at $15 per pack that makes them less expensive than one set of nail stickers.
-
They never dry out so you can use a Christmas pattern one year and save the rest for the following year. (Open a pack of nail stickers and they’ll be unusable within a day.)
-
As I said earlier, they can be customized with any photo. (Got a great pattern on your throw pillow? Take a snap of it and send it off for a one-of-a-kind mani.)
-
They really don’t chip.
-
They peel right off (with a little heat from a blow dryer).
Additionally, they’re non-toxic, won’t damage natural or artificial nails, and there’s no annoying drying time.
How to Make the Magic Happen
Jamberry has two videos that I strongly encourage you to watch before applying your wraps. It will make the application a thousand times more successful. I’m speaking from experience. I made the mistake of watching them after I put them on, so my wraps weren’t quite as smooth and pretty as they could have been. That said, they still looked great for over a week and honestly, I got tons of compliments on them, even from my husband!
As with just about anything, there is a learning curve. So, if you aren’t happy with your first application, don’t give up. I guarantee the second will be much better.
