Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but they aren’t very helpful when you’ve got to run out the door at a moment’s notice. Maybe the carpool mom just called to say she’s sick and can’t take the kids to school. Perhaps you thought basketball tryouts were tomorrow, not today – in 15 minutes. Throwing on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt is easy enough but what to do with your hair? It’s in need of a wash and going every which way. You’re sure to see other moms at school, and as long as you’re out it would make sense to get some errands done, but there’s barely enough time to run a brush through it. Enter a girl’s other BFF – the hat.
Don’t be afraid of hats!
The best thing about hats is that they aren’t just easy cover ups for bad hair days, they’re actually uber-stylish. And because many people are afraid of wearing them, you’ll look confident and put-together when you don one. Never get caught looking embarrassingly bad again. Even if your outfit is nothing special, a fashionable hat will make your whole ensemble infinitely cuter.
Don’t skip the men’s department
Don’t be afraid to look in men’s stores/departments for hats, even at places like Target. Just because they say they’re for men doesn’t mean they have to be. I own quite a few men’s hats. And don’t fret if they are too big; just add some hat filler for a quick and inexpensive fix.
How to wear them
Wearing a hat is easy. You just need to know what’s on trend and the proper placement of each style. Check out the photos below for some great hat deals and outfit inspiration. And be sure to peruse our “How To Wear: Hats” Pinterest page for even more ways to rock them.

I love this post! I have a simialiar one on Fedoras called “Fedora love of fashion”, so many women think they don’t “look good in hats” when they just haven’t found the right style. I adore your blog. Thanks for bringing back style to the mommy world!!!
Thanks so much! We definitely agree! Either they haven’t found the right style or are afraid to try but it’s so easy!
