A mom’s warm weather schedule can be overwhelming . . . and fun. With so many enticing extracurricular activities to keep you busy, sometimes there just isn’t time (or an available phone booth) for a wardrobe change between school, the pool, errands and the big soccer match. Short of showing up at your child’s sports event in your bikini, prepare ahead of time with a versatile cover-up, attractive sandals, and a few choice accessories.

The cover-up above  stands on its own and can be utilized often, stretching that budget. T-shirt dresses are casual, cool and easy to pull-on quickly. (Same goes for the casual shift dress.) Dress it down with sneakers; up with heels; wear it to the beach with cute sandals; add a touch of tomboy charm with a pair of combat boots. For even more outfit ideas, see the Outfits: T-Shirt Dress board on The Mommy Stylist Pinterest page.

Throw this stylish cover-up on over one of the swimsuits in our recent post “Flirty Swimsuits For Confident and Beach-Ready Moms.”

I’ve been running around in the sexy pineapple number below, available from ModCloth. The high waistline covers my worry zone (C-section tummy), the print is fresh and unexpected, and the cut of the top is stylishly sexy. I feel strong and confident in this bikini, and the compliments from other women – teenagers, other moms, even the occasional grandmother – only help.

Now, pull the outfit together. Accessorize to take this t-shirt dress from cover-up to wearable fashion. The accessories shown can be worn together with almost any summer or fall outfit. Boater hats, square sunnies, layered necklaces, midi and regular rings, and fringed bags all echo Boho style – the epitome of casual cool. Add a mod shoe and a touch of lip color and you’re all set for quick transitions from school to swim class to hockey practice and back again.
