Beanies are accessories that stay around forever and are timelessly chic. So, why do we avoid them? They’re a moms friend for sure; they hide bedhead with style. I like the above video from Fear To Faith clothing because it shows how to obtain that perfectly elusive, universally flattering, tucked, slouchy beanie look. Who knew it was so easy?
Now that you’ve gotten over your fear of resembling a cartoon character in this adorable fall/winter accessory, let’s discuss hair. How do you style your hair with a beanie? What?! I still have to style my hair?! Yes. The beanie will cover unwashed roots, but that doesn’t mean you want everyone to know you’re dirty or running late rather than simply fashionable.
The three best beanie-hair tips I’ve learned are:
-
Stretch open the beanie with both hands and place it on your head approaching from crown.
-
Pulling the front of the beanie to the top of the bang line works best for me but as you can see from the photos below it can be adjusted forward or back as well. Move it around a bit to see what flatters your face shape and personal style.
-
Texturized hair and bangs framing the face are key.
