Now that The Mommy Stylist has been around for several years, we’ve decided to start re-posting some of our favorite blogs each Monday so that new readers can benefit from them as well. (And they can serve as reminders for those who have been with us from the beginning.) While some of the items may no longer be available, we wouldn’t post anything that’s out of style, so use them for reference and keep an eye out for something similar when you’re out and about. Enjoy!
Looks like the folks at People StyleWatch appreciate drapey sweaters as much as I do. Neither of the women in the photos are wearing anything particularly interesting underneath – but they don’t need to because when a drapey sweater is added, voila, instant style. It’s as easy as that. Take the ensemble one step further by adding a casual bracelet or necklace and you’re good to go.
Oh, and don’t worry about price. Drapey sweaters are easy to find at inexpensive stores like Target, Kohl’s, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, JC Penney, etc. Don’t waste your money on an expensive one. It’s just not necessary.
Note: This kind of sweater must be worn with skinny pants, leggings or pants that are tight on the thigh (and then get wider below the knee like boot cut or flares). If you pair one with trouser-style pants it will just make you look bigger all over.
