Now that The Mommy Stylist has been around for several years, we’ve decided to start re-posting some of our favorite blogs each Monday so that new readers can benefit from them as well. (And they can serve as reminders for those who have been with us from the beginning.) While some of the items may no longer be available, we wouldn’t post anything that’s out of style, so use them for reference and keep an eye out for something similar when you’re out and about. Enjoy!
In case you didn’t see the post on our Facebook page, I recently had a Mommy Stylist event at Movida, a boutique in Dallas. For the party, I styled three mannequins with clothing from the store and indicated what kinds of mommy occasions they’d be good for. Although most of the pieces have since sold out, a few are still available. For that reason, and to continue to give you cute and functional outfit ideas, I thought I’d post a photo of said outfits here. If you are interested in any of the pieces you can email isa.movidaboutique@gmail.com to see if they are still available. (They will ship anywhere in the U.S. for $7.)
The first ensemble would be perfect for lunch with the girls or a parent-teacher conference. The second could be worn to the office and take you straight through to a school function without having to go home to change. Throw on a cropped leather jacket or sweater if it’s cold, or another alternative would be to put on a tight long-sleeved black shirt under the dress. You could easily run errands, chaperone a field trip or report for lunch duty in the school cafeteria in the last outfit.
The shoes on the first mannequin and the boots on the third are from Target while the flats in the middle are from Lulu’s.
